About StatsDrone
StatsDrone is a data intelligence platform for affiliate marketing. We help affiliates aggregate, analyze, and optimize their business with support for 2,250+ affiliate program integrations, an affiliate CRM, BI tools, and AI-powered insights, primarily in iGaming, with growing coverage in finance and other verticals. Based in Montréal, our mission is simple: make affiliate marketing better and more data-driven.
We're now building the next chapter of that mission: AI agents that work alongside affiliates — monitoring stats, catching revenue leaks, surfacing optimization opportunities, and automating the busywork that eats up an affiliate's day. We're looking for someone to own that chapter.
The role
As Head of Agents, you'll define and lead our AI agent strategy end to end — from architecture and prototyping to shipping production agents that thousands of affiliates rely on daily. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll write code, design agent systems, evaluate models, and set the technical direction, while working directly with the founders on where agents fit in the product roadmap.
You'll be the person in the company who knows agents inside out; frameworks, orchestration, tool use, evals, guardrails, cost optimization — and can turn that knowledge into features customers love.
What you'll do
- Own the vision, roadmap, and delivery of AI agents across the StatsDrone platform
- Design and build agentic systems that work with real affiliate data: stats monitoring, anomaly and revenue-leak detection, reporting, CRM automation, and program research
- Choose and evolve our agent stack, models (Claude, GPT, open-source), frameworks, orchestration, MCP/tool integrations, memory, and retrieval
- Build robust evaluation, testing, and observability so agents are accurate, safe, and trustworthy with customer data
- Prototype fast, validate with real users, and ship to production
- Keep us ahead of the curve: track the agent ecosystem and bring the best of it into the product
- Hire and mentor engineers as the agents team grows, and set best practices for AI development across the company
- Work with product, support, and customers to find the highest-impact automation opportunities
What we're looking for
- Deep, demonstrable expertise with LLMs and AI agents, you've built and shipped agentic systems in production, not just demos
- Strong software engineering background (Python and/or TypeScript preferred) with experience in APIs, data pipelines, and SaaS products
- Hands-on experience with the modern agent toolkit: function/tool calling, MCP, RAG, multi-agent orchestration, prompt and context engineering, and eval frameworks
- Sound judgment on when to use agents versus simpler automation, you care about reliability and cost, not hype
- Experience handling sensitive data responsibly; you understand guardrails, privacy, and security in AI systems
- Ability to lead: set direction, make build-vs-buy calls, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Startup DNA — comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and owning outcomes end to end
Nice to have
- Experience in affiliate marketing, iGaming, ad tech, or analytics/BI products
- Experience with data-heavy or integration-heavy platforms
- Track record of hiring and growing an engineering or AI team
- Contributions to open-source AI/agent projects, or public writing/speaking on agents
